Palden Gyatso

Saturday, October 22nd at 7:30pm in the HR Macmillan Space Centre, 1100 Chestnut St., Vancouver, Palden Gyatso will be giving a public talk.

Palden Gyatso spent 33 years in a Chinese prison and will be telling his amazing story of survival. His autobiography Fire Under the Snow will be available on site, and will be made available to students at cost! If you are interested in obtaining a copy, email me and we’ll see what can be arranged.

Palden Gyatso has been to Vancouver before, and I have had the privilege of hearing him speak. The experience is well worthwhile. He is also an inspirational voice to the ‘Free Tibet’ movement.
Hope to see you all there!

  2. I remember his talk when I was in school in India and later I read his book, “Fire under Snow”. It was so heartbreaking. The book is a great testomony to the suffering endured by Tibetan political prisoners under the Chinese oppression. What kind of Monster is China when it hails itself as an economically advanced country and exert such oppression in Tibet and other parts of its so called “minority nationalities”. Economic accumulation is not the answer to assuage Tibetan people’s quench for freedom. Freedom is a basic human right that cannot be bought by money.
